2025 CUPRA Tavascan: Versions, Specs and Buyer Guide

Scope: 2025 documented production/sale year; verified market: EU. Other market versions may differ.

Why This 2025 Model Matters

CUPRA's Tavascan is a useful counterpoint to conventional Volkswagen Group SUVs: it uses electric MEB-family engineering but sells a deliberately low-roofed SUV-coupe shape and a different interior personality. By 2025 the vehicle was present in European manufacturer communications with clear Endurance and VZ drivetrains. The two power levels should not be described as separate generations; they are nested versions of the same first-generation model. Nor should a Turkish website's later live range counter be mistaken for its dated 2025 technical sheet.

Verified Powertrains and Model-Year Changes

The February 2025 CUPRA data identifies a 77 kWh net-capacity battery for both versions. Endurance has a 210 kW rear motor and manufacturer WLTP range of 542–569 km depending on specification. VZ uses dual motors for all-wheel drive and a 250 kW combined rating, with the published WLTP band of 512–521 km. Neither figure is a promise of winter motorway range. They are cycle-specific laboratory values whose dependence on tires and equipment is especially relevant for a sloping-roof performance-styled electric SUV.

Buying Considerations

Endurance is the rational starting point for someone who values longer official range and does not need all-wheel acceleration. VZ makes sense if additional traction and response are genuine priorities, but its extra equipment and running costs should be discussed alongside charging convenience. A family should physically test entry to the rear seat and compare luggage usability against taller alternatives such as the Škoda Enyaq or Volkswagen ID.4 rather than assuming all MEB SUVs package passengers equally.

2026 Used-Vehicle Inspection

Before acquiring a used example, inspect the charge port, test AC and DC charging with compatible hardware and ask for battery-condition information from an approved diagnostic process. Examine software level, camera functions and assistance packages, since connected services can evolve independently of the basic motor specification. In markets outside the original EU scope, check charge-plug standard and software localization before importing. Manufacturer performance data must not be turned into an unsupported independent road test.

Cross-Shopping and Market Boundaries

Polestar 4, Renault Scenic E-Tech and Škoda Enyaq provide contrasting answers to the same broad electric-family question. This article deliberately uses the dated 2025 CUPRA technical press kit, including its explicit 'net' battery label, instead of merging gross and usable capacity claims from later sales pages.
