VEHICLE OVERVIEWMotorRift

U.S. 2026 model-year specification. The 2026 U.S. Civic Sport Hybrid sedan combines a 200-hp hybrid system rating with a manufacturer-published 49 mpg combined EPA estimate.

Where the Sport Hybrid fits

Honda sells multiple Civic Sedan grades, and the Sport Hybrid is not interchangeable with the gasoline-only Sport. This profile is for the 2026 U.S. four-door sedan in Sport Hybrid specification. It should not be confused with a Civic hatchback or another regional Civic hybrid carrying different equipment.

Power and fuel economy

Honda lists 200 total system horsepower for the Sport Hybrid. The U.S. estimates are 50 mpg city, 47 mpg highway and 49 mpg combined. The separate internal-combustion-engine horsepower in the manufacturer table should not be mistaken for hybrid total output. The economy figures are standardized estimates, not an independent WeraOne driving test.

Buying implications

A hybrid system makes this a useful comparison against the non-hybrid Civic Sport and other compact hybrids, but the comparison should also include purchase price, annual mileage, highway versus city use and what equipment the chosen grade includes. The model year and trim determine the specific wheels, displays and convenience features.

Ownership checks

Verify that the car is actually a Sport Hybrid and review owner guidance for the hybrid system. On a used example, review service records and battery-related warranty terms specific to the sale region. Check VIN-specific recalls rather than assuming that another model-year Civic campaign applies. Charging-port claims are not made: this is a conventional hybrid, not a plug-in variant.
