2021 Dacia Sandero Stepway: 3rd generation
Sandero Stepway buyers are often looking for the appearance and seating impression of a small crossover without paying for a substantially larger SUV. The 2021 third-generation car put that formula on newer CMF-B underpinnings. Crucially, the Stepway is not a four-wheel-drive off-roader, and its petrol, automatic and LPG options must be read separately.
Which 2021 vehicle is this?
Dacia’s Turkish introduction in February 2021 establishes a real calendar-year arrival for the Stepway in that market. Its reshaped bonnet, extra ground-clearance presentation and model positioning separate the Stepway from the regular Sandero hatchback. The French launch material is useful for explaining engine families, but cannot by itself prove that any French trim name was sold in Turkey.
This profile applies to Turkey and identifies a vehicle offered during calendar 2021. Registrations, facelifts and equipment in other jurisdictions are not interchangeable. A specification mentioned below applies only to the named version; optional equipment and later software or homologation changes need separate documentation.

What matters in everyday ownership
It suits drivers dealing with speed bumps, tight urban parking and occasional rough access roads but not severe off-road use. TCe 90 and ECO-G 100 speak to different priorities: ease of fueling and automatic availability on one side, potential use of LPG on the other. A higher-looking body does not automatically mean AWD or significantly more passenger space.
Used-buying checks in 2026
Identify factory LPG hardware, the exact transmission and regional equipment from the registration file, not from the badge. Examine tires and suspension after rough-road use, and check for underbody damage without assuming SUV styling confers protective hardware. Safety aids such as blind-spot warning were among newly available technologies, not necessarily universally standard. Prefer cars with complete fuel-system and maintenance records.
Alternatives and limits
The regular Sandero remains the simpler lower-profile comparison, and a Renault Captur is a more SUV-focused alternative with different configuration options. Owners who never need the extra height may be better served by the plain hatchback. Someone who regularly drives on unpaved tracks should assess ground clearance and traction hardware directly, not infer them from the Stepway name.
