2022 Fiat Pulse: BR Specifications and 2026 Ownership Guide
Verified market: BR. Documented 2022 sale/introduction; some markets do not use formal model-year labels.
2022 vehicle identity and buyer context
The Fiat Pulse was developed in Brazil and introduced late in 2021, making the 2022 Brazilian first-generation line an important regional compact SUV rather than a rebadged European Fiat 500X. The manufacturer’s MY2022 technical library separates 1.3-liter Firefly entry cars from the Turbo 200 Flex derivatives. A buyer should therefore decode engine and gearbox before using a single “Pulse 2022” description for running-cost estimates.
Powertrains and market-specific specifications
The 1.0-liter three-cylinder Turbo 200 is a flex-fuel gasoline/ethanol engine rated by Fiat at up to 130 metric horsepower with ethanol and 125 with gasoline, developing up to 200 Nm. These are fuel-dependent Brazilian claims, not US SAE ratings. The non-turbo 1.3-liter family has different performance and drivetrain combinations; its precise figures must be linked to the original Brazilian trim sheet.
Verified variant distinctions
| 2022 BR variant | Powertrain | Transmission | Drive | Applicable certified figure / note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pulse 1.3 Firefly Flex | 1.3 L flex-fuel naturally aspirated four-cylinder | manual or CVT by Brazilian trim | FWD | trim scope: Drive; use original MY2022 spec sheet for exact output |
| Pulse Turbo 200 Flex | 1.0 L turbo flex-fuel three-cylinder | CVT automatic | FWD | output cv ethanol: 130; output cv gasoline: 125; torque nm: 200; fuel scope: ethanol and petrol outputs not identical |
Trims, equipment and model-year distinctions
Fiat positioned connectivity, LED lighting and optional driver-assistance content as part of the Pulse’s appeal, but equipment such as an advanced emergency-braking system differs by version. The 2022 Audace and higher Turbo 200 presentations should not be silently generalized to a basic Drive. The vehicle’s relatively tall stance also does not automatically provide four-wheel drive.
What matters to a 2026 used buyer
In 2026 a Brazilian used-car inspection should consider the choice of gasoline versus ethanol in the owner’s usage pattern, turbo cooling history where relevant, gearbox servicing and all fuel-system service campaigns by VIN. Fiat issued a November 2022 fuel-pump campaign covering a defined number of Pulse vehicles in 2022/2023 model-year groups; that does not mean every Pulse is affected.
Should you buy it? Alternatives and limitations
Compare with the Volkswagen Nivus or Renault Duster only after accounting for body size, luggage space and precise regional fuel type. A Pulse with the turbo motor could be a different ownership commitment than the 1.3-liter entry variant. There is no claim here that recall existence proves population-wide defect incidence.
