What the 2023 vehicle actually was
The fifth-generation 2023 Lexus RX is more than a facelift. The new GA-K-based model replaced the old V6-centered approach with multiple four-cylinder-based drivetrains and revised suspension geometry. It is a useful used-car target for households that want a luxury crossover but do not need the third row of a larger SUV.
The American launch range separates the turbo RX 350, economy-oriented RX 350h and performance-hybrid RX 500h F SPORT Performance. Lexus listed 275 hp from the 2.4-litre turbo RX 350, 246 combined hp from the 2.5-litre RX 350h and 367 hp from the RX 500h system. The RX 450h+ was announced with later US availability; do not claim it was on every 2023 dealer lot.

Model-year distinction: 2023 brought the fifth-generation RX and new turbo and hybrid configurations; the RX 450h+ was described by Lexus as following later in the US, not an assumed launch-sale variant.
Strengths and ownership compromises
For repeated city travel, the RX 350h has an ownership concept that differs from a non-hybrid turbo or performance hybrid. The RX 500h adds complexity and speed-oriented hardware not justified merely by wanting the biggest infotainment screen. A buyer should separately assess tyre, brake and insurance requirements for the F SPORT Performance.

Verify drivetrain codes, maintenance and hybrid cooling history, confirm VIN-dependent service actions and inspect electronic driver aids after any collision repair. Test the cargo opening and rear seats with real passengers. A launch-era equipment statement is not proof that every optional aid or package was standard.
Alternatives and who should consider it
Toyota Highlander is an alternative where third-row capacity matters more than luxury; the BMW X5 is a different higher-cost luxury proposition. Cross-market RX trim names and homologation cannot be transferred from US to Middle Eastern or Japanese cars.
