Hyundai gave the Indian-market Creta its significant second-generation facelift in January 2024. The result is a vehicle that can look much newer than an earlier Creta despite retaining the fundamental model line, so a registration year alone is not enough to establish the specification. The redesigned front and rear lighting, revised dashboard and expanded equipment mix matter to an owner who plans to keep the car through 2026 and beyond. This profile deliberately avoids transferring engine choices from Brazilian or other regional Cretas onto the Indian car.
Powertrain and 2024 market specification
The facelifted Indian Creta was sold with 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. Transmission choices span manual, IVT, seven-speed dual-clutch and six-speed conventional automatic arrangements according to engine and grade; no single trim includes all of them. Period reporting states 160 PS and 253 Nm for the new turbo-petrol option. Hyundai’s FY2023–24 report documents the 2024 interior and safety-equipment updates. Driver assistance and premium cabin features vary by trim, so sellers should present a build-specific equipment list.
What to examine on a used example
Inspect the car as the exact engine-and-transmission pairing that it is, not merely a “Creta SX”. In dense traffic, a dual-clutch model warrants a representative warm test drive; a diesel used only for short journeys calls for attention to the documented servicing and emissions-system requirements. Check the full-width display hardware and whether parking cameras, radar sensors, connected services and climate settings operate as claimed. Also examine repaired body panels carefully: with redesigned bumpers and lamps, replacement parts should match the actual facelift variant.
Buyer fit, limitations and alternatives
This Creta makes sense for buyers needing a comfortable, mainstream two-row SUV with several powertrain options and a wide network in India. If occasional third-row seating is essential, the Alcazar addresses a different need. For diesel buyers doing sustained longer routes the cost equation differs from short-hop petrol use; no fuel-economy result should be inferred from a different regional test. Compare a Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara or Honda Elevate against the particular 2024 Creta grade on space, servicing and actual features.
