The Xiaomi SU7 entered China’s electric-sedan market in March 2024, bringing a technology-company name into a category historically led by carmakers. It has a long, low four-door body, a digital-first interface and configurations designed around distinctly different performance expectations. This profile is for the first-generation 2024 Chinese launch vehicle: the SU7 name was also used for a later 2026 generation, and later specifications must not be silently applied to a 2024 car. An export advertisement requires special care because local service support and legal approval are not established by the original Chinese launch alone.

Powertrains, equipment and market specifications

Xiaomi’s launch record establishes the 2024 commercial introduction and initial SU7 family, but it is not sufficient evidence to attribute every battery chemistry, regional charging standard, power output and certified driving range to any used SU7. Those figures remain deliberately unspecified in this record rather than copied from a newer brochure. The correct first step is obtaining the vehicle’s original configuration, VIN-linked documentation and market certificate. In particular, quoted ranges may use China’s CLTC procedure, which should not be compared numerically with European WLTP or US EPA figures as though they were the same measurement.

Checking a used example

As a potential used purchase, the SU7’s appeal is its distinctive technology-focused cabin and sedan profile. However, the software experience, navigation, digital services and over-the-air support deserve the same scrutiny as the motors. Confirm whether the car can receive local updates, whether a service partner will support it, whether the charging hardware matches available plugs and whether any parts or body repairs require Chinese-market procurement. None of these questions can be settled merely by a low odometer reading or attractive screen display.

Who should buy it, and alternatives

The SU7 may interest an enthusiast living where the model is officially supported and who wants a full-size electric sedan rather than a crossover. The safer alternative for a buyer in an unsupported market is to prioritize a locally homologated vehicle with an established repair and charging network. Compare with a Tesla Model 3, Hyundai Ioniq 6 or BYD Seal in the same jurisdiction, verifying locally supplied specifications. This remains a 2024 launch-year profile, not an endorsement of grey-market importation.
