2025 Kia EV3: Specifications, Versions and Buying Guide

Scope: 2025 documented sale/production year; verified variant jurisdictions: GB. Figures apply only to the variants identified below.

The Kia EV3 puts a family-friendly electric-SUV package into a smaller footprint than the EV6 or EV9. For its 2025 British-market line, the most meaningful decision is the battery: the shorter-range 58.3 kWh offering costs less and suits predictable local travel, while the 81.4 kWh version adds useful distance between charging stops. Neither should be described with U.S. EPA data because the official figures here use WLTP.

2025 Specification and Market Differences

Kia's U.K. specifications identify 150 kW front-wheel drive for the original standard- and long-range EV3 configurations. The Air with 17-inch wheels is listed at 270 miles WLTP combined with 58.3 kWh and 375 miles with the 81.4 kWh pack. Higher trims wearing larger wheels are rated differently. The supplier's live page later added AWD/GT information, which is deliberately not assigned to the 2025 cars in this record.

Who Should Consider It?

For households that can plug in at home, the standard-range EV3 could be the financially simpler choice. Drivers who frequently cross regions should factor in high-speed charging capability and the time spent stopping, not just the lab range. Carrying a full family load, winter tyres or travelling at sustained motorway speeds changes achievable distance. Check the correct charge-port type and whether a heat pump was fitted on the individual grade.

Ownership and Used-Buyer Checks

The cabin technology is a key attraction but several functions depend on trim. Digital Key and remote parking capabilities are not automatically present on every EV3, and any connected feature should be tested with an account and compatible handset. Used buyers should inspect charging leads, tyres and interior wear and request battery warranty paperwork before relying on a salesman's broad claims.

Alternatives and Verdict

The Volvo EX30 offers a different compact EV experience; the Škoda Elroq and Renault Scenic E-Tech compete for family practicality with differing batteries. Choose the EV3 for its balance of accessible size and long-range option, rather than expecting the peak WLTP number from every version. Market-specific configurations outside Britain remain a separate source-checking task.
