2025 Mahindra BE 6: Specifications, Versions and Buying Guide
Scope: 2025 documented sale/production year; verified variant jurisdictions: IN. Figures apply only to the variants identified below.
Mahindra's BE 6 marked a new phase of purpose-built electric SUVs in India during 2025. Rather than a conventional petrol SUV converted for battery power, it uses the company's electric-origin design direction and stands out through dramatic proportions. The buying challenge is separating its theatre from practical choices: pack designation, battery size, charger cost and local support are all more consequential than the launch imagery.
2025 Specification and Market Differences
Mahindra's February 2025 booking release documents 59 kWh battery variants called Pack One, Pack One Above, Pack Two and Pack Three Select, together with a 79 kWh Pack Three. Its January top-grade release quotes a peak 210 kW for the 79 kWh configuration and a conditional 20-to-80-percent charging time of around 20 minutes using a 175 kW DC charger. This does not mean a 175 kW public charger is available on every Indian route.
| Market and version | Powertrain / drive | Verified figures |
|---|---|---|
| IN — Pack One/Two/Three Select | 59 kWh battery-electric; RWD | battery rated: 59 kWh |
| IN — Pack Three | 79 kWh battery-electric; RWD | battery rated: 79 kWh; peak output: 210 kW |
Who Should Consider It?
Prices released by Mahindra exclude a separate home-charger and installation charge, an important part of comparing total costs with a petrol or hybrid alternative. The company's 2025 schedule phased deliveries across the grades, so a booking date alone does not establish when any specific vehicle was delivered. Confirm battery and optional equipment directly from the car rather than inferring a top-pack specification from BE 6 badges on the tailgate.
Ownership and Used-Buyer Checks
The BE 6 is an appealing option for someone who enjoys a distinctive cockpit and is prepared to manage charging habits. Before committing, physically assess outward visibility, rear-seat comfort, ride height and boot access. More technology also means more reason to verify app account transfer, active assistance functionality and the current software build on a used car. Inspect tyres and body panels for damage, and check service campaigns by VIN.
Alternatives and Verdict
Mahindra's own XEV 9e offers a different cabin and body proposition with overlapping battery choices. A Hyundai Creta Electric may appeal to a shopper preferring conventional proportions or an established familiar nameplate. The BE 6 should be selected on its particular battery/grade strengths, not on unverified claims about future software features, resale value or battery longevity.
