2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC: Specifications, Market Variants and Used-Buyer Guide

Scope: 2025 model-year or documented 2025 sale/production year; jurisdiction: US. Specifications apply only to the explicitly named versions.

Where This 2025 Model Fits

Mercedes' X254 GLC SUV reached the 2025 U.S. model year as an established compact luxury crossover, but the introduction of a GLC 350e plug-in hybrid materially broadened the choice. Rather than calling all GLC models a hybrid, shoppers should distinguish the mild-hybrid gasoline GLC 300 from a vehicle designed to travel significant distances on external charging. The coupe-body GLC is a different bodystyle, and an AMG GLC should not be silently folded into normal model specifications. This entry concentrates on the U.S. SUV and its documented year-specific offerings.

Technical Differences That Matter

The GLC 300's two-litre turbo gasoline engine is paired with 48-volt assistance; Mercedes' U.S. lineup also includes rear-drive and 4MATIC versions. The newly offered 2025 GLC 350e 4MATIC was advertised with an EPA electric range of up to 54 miles, a U.S. rating that is not directly comparable with a WLTP result from Germany or Britain. A plug-in range figure is not proof that a vehicle will achieve that distance in freezing weather or at motorway speed. Mercedes also updated standard third-generation MBUX, digital key, 5G communications and front-seat centre airbag provisions for the 2025 SUV family.

Ownership and Inspection Priorities

The 350e makes most sense when the owner can charge regularly and most weekday trips lie within the electrically driven envelope. For drivers without overnight access, the higher complexity and weight of a plug-in drivetrain may not return a practical benefit; compare fuel use after the battery is depleted rather than an optimistic weighted efficiency number. Before buying used, test the charge port, inspect the charging accessories, request battery-related records and confirm exactly which connected services still work. A list price or imported trim name alone is an unreliable equipment guide.

Alternatives and Buying Verdict

Competitors include the BMW X3, Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60, with very different choices of electrification, seats and controls. A buyer who prioritises luggage space or the less complex gasoline arrangement can reasonably prefer a GLC 300; someone able to charge at work might see the GLC 350e differently. Ensure insurance, tyres and the availability of charging infrastructure are part of the cost equation. This is a model-specific research guide, not a claim about fault frequency or a substitute for a physical inspection.
