2025 Nissan Patrol: Versions, Specifications and Buying Guide
Scope: documented 2025 sales/production-year edition; documented market: AE. Do not transfer specifications to other jurisdictions or production years.
Model-Year Identity and Market Context
The seventh-generation Nissan Patrol Y63 was launched in Abu Dhabi in September 2024 and Nissan stated that UAE deliveries through its partner network would begin in November. It is therefore a firmly documented 2025 Gulf-market production/sale-year SUV, not just a show concept. This full-size, body-on-frame Patrol changes the fundamental engine choice from the previous generation, replacing the flagship V8 story with new V6 propulsion. Different Patrol generations sold in other places should not be merged under a single 2025 identity without verifying the region and platform.
Verified Powertrain and Equipment
Nissan's launch release describes two petrol V6 choices: a 3.8-litre naturally aspirated engine rated at 316 HP and 386 Nm, and a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 rated at 425 HP and 700 Nm. Both use a nine-speed automatic. Nissan also highlights optional adaptive air suspension and electronic damping features, alongside different off-road driving modes. These outputs are given in the manufacturer's own units without assuming they equal European PS or certified test results. The existence of air suspension on some editions should not be sold as standard on every base version.

What Works for Buyers
Patrol is a specialised option for buyers wanting three-row cabin potential, long-distance comfort and capability on demanding roads. In UAE conditions it can serve family transport and recreational dune-country journeys, provided the driver is trained and the actual tyres and equipment are appropriate. The twin-turbo offers a very different engine response from the naturally aspirated car, so choosing it should reflect towing or performance needs rather than a simple assumption that the highest output is always best for every family.
Limitations and Trade-Offs
Large footprint, fuel demand and parking difficulty remain major ownership considerations. New turbocharging hardware and additional electronic chassis features may alter maintenance and repair costs, but there is no verified basis here to name specific failure rates. Sand driving can accelerate cosmetic and mechanical wear; buyers should never infer pristine condition from an SUV's reputation. 'Gulf-spec Patrol' is not enough to confirm whether the vehicle has suspension options or the 3.5-litre engine. More specialised NISMO and PRO-4X offerings also appeared later, and their equipment should remain separately qualified.
2026 Used-Buyer Checklist and Alternatives
For a used 2025-market Patrol, compare the VIN specification with original UAE or Saudi sales documentation and check engine/transmission combinations. Inspect underbody and suspension equipment after off-road use, examine tyres and brakes and test electronic drive modes on appropriate ground. Review air-conditioning operation under load and request full service records. Ask the authorised regional dealer to verify outstanding campaigns. Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is the obvious rival in the Gulf, but similarly named Land Cruiser Prado/250 is another class of vehicle and should not share the Patrol's specifications.
