2026 Honda Super-ONE: What Buyers Need to Know
Applicability: JP; documented 2026 sales/production period, not a globally uniform model year. This profile covers the first generation hatchback. It does not transfer the listed specification to unrelated market versions or earlier generations.
Verified configurations and technical facts
- JP — NORMAL modes: single-motor battery-electric e-Axle; single-speed (simulated shifts are sound/control feature); electric motor drive. motor power: 47 kW in normal modes; WLTC range: 274 km. Test standard: Japanese WLTC.
- JP — BOOST mode: single-motor battery-electric e-Axle; single-speed; simulated 7-speed feel; electric motor drive. motor peak in BOOST: 70 kW; vehicle weight: 1,090 kg in documented configuration. Test standard: Japanese WLTC range 274 km for model.
What is distinct about this version
Honda began Japanese sales of Super-ONE in May 2026. It shares platform ancestry with N-ONE e: but adds its own body width, 70-kW BOOST mode, active sound programme and simulated shifts.
A small EV with an unusually specific mission
Super-ONE is based on Honda’s N-ONE e: platform but is wider and more deliberately playful to drive. Its BOOST programme raises published motor output from 47 to 70 kW and pairs acceleration with synthesised engine sound and simulated gear changes. Those “gears” do not mean that the vehicle contains a seven-speed mechanical transmission. That distinction matters when reading second-hand advertisements or seeking maintenance instructions; the car is still an electric single-speed hatchback.
A range figure for Japan, not the world
Honda documents a 274-km range under the Japanese WLTC methodology. That figure is not a US EPA estimate, nor should it be compared numerically with a WLTP or CLTC figure from another car. Small EVs can excel on predictable urban routes with reliable regular charging, but high-speed travel and cold weather need a margin. Honda quotes a 30-minute rapid-charging benchmark under specified conditions; a buyer should check the actual Japanese connector and charger availability before planning imports.
Who should want it
A driver who enjoys distinctive small cars, values responsive low-speed operation and can charge where they park has a clearer reason to choose Super-ONE than someone demanding a large motorway cruiser. The rear-seat folding arrangement provides useful flexibility, but occupants should sit behind their normal driving position before purchase. Validate any used example’s electrical checks, battery coverage and actual trim. Honda first put the car on sale in Japan in May 2026; this article does not claim that a corresponding left-hand-drive European version was simultaneously offered.
