Zeekr 7X Australia 2026: Three EV Versions Compared
Market scope: AU. Year basis: documented 2026 commercial sale / update.
What is different about this model?
The Zeekr 7X is one of the Chinese-brand electric SUVs entering the Australian family-vehicle conversation with a clearly documented local grade ladder. A 75 kWh rear-drive vehicle, a 100 kWh rear-drive Long Range and a 100 kWh Performance AWD do not offer identical journey capability. The local product page quotes three different WLTP ranges; separating those avoids portraying the headline 615 km maximum as a universal figure across Zeekr's range.
Powertrain and verified specifications
Zeekr lists 480 km WLTP for the rear-drive 75 kWh model, 615 km for 100 kWh Long Range RWD and 543 km for Performance AWD. The 7X uses an 800-volt vehicle architecture and rapid-charge claims that rely on compatible high-output equipment; the manufacturer gives a best-case 10–80% time of about 13 minutes for the 75 kWh version under favourable conditions. This is not a promise that ordinary 50 kW DC chargers will achieve those times. The AWD grade is also faster, with a quoted 3.8-second 0–100 km/h figure.
Which version makes sense?
Long Range RWD makes the strongest paper case for commuters who occasionally drive between cities, while AWD shifts priorities toward traction and acceleration. Do not interpret a quicker sprint as better ride comfort or as a reason to ignore tyre expenditure. A family test drive should include child-seat access, boot dimensions, visibility and driver-assistance behaviour. Compare verified Australian charging connectors and network compatibility rather than importing charger specifications from a Chinese-market 7X.
Ownership and used-car considerations
For a used or nearly new 7X, check the actual VIN configuration, charging session performance, tyre size and any documented software updates. A rapid-charge result requires battery temperature and charger data before it can be judged abnormal. The manufacturer's range figures are WLTP, not CLTC, EPA or independently observed owner averages. Australian warranty statements must be read with their local eligibility conditions and ownership transfer terms. For a budget comparison also evaluate the Kia EV5 and BYD Sealion 7 in directly comparable local versions.
