2025 Škoda Elroq: Specifications, Versions and Buying Guide

Scope: 2025 documented sale/production year; verified variant jurisdictions: EU. Figures apply only to the variants identified below.

Škoda's Elroq entered the compact family-EV class with a deliberately conventional brief: enough boot and rear-seat space for everyday use without asking buyers to embrace a radically unfamiliar cabin. Its relation to Volkswagen Group's MEB architecture makes it an interesting counterpoint to the more stylised Kia EV3. The 2025 story is one of several battery choices, not a single quoted range.

2025 Specification and Market Differences

A key source distinction matters here. Škoda's own technical table specifically says it applies to cars produced from June 2025. That table gives Elroq 50 a 55 kWh gross, 52 kWh usable battery and 125 kW, and Elroq 85 an 82/77 kWh gross/usable pack and 210 kW. Listed ranges are 375 km and 574 km respectively under the quoted WLTP methodology. Other model-year updates must not be smuggled into this snapshot.

Market and version Powertrain / drive Verified figures
EU — Elroq 50, builds from June 2025 battery-electric; RWD battery gross: 55 kWh; battery usable: 52 kWh; power: 125 kW; wltp range: 375 km (manufacturer WLTP table)
EU — Elroq 85, builds from June 2025 battery-electric; RWD battery gross: 82 kWh; battery usable: 77 kWh; power: 210 kW; wltp range: 574 km (manufacturer WLTP table)

Who Should Consider It?

This battery size difference is more than a statistic. An Elroq 50 is most attractive for commuters with predictable charging and a controlled budget; the 85 improves flexibility for longer motorway trips but comes with higher acquisition cost and different tyre/equipment choices. A buyer comparing two advertisements should establish the build date, powertrain code and whether the quoted kWh refers to gross or usable energy.

Ownership and Used-Buyer Checks

Charging-stop planning also benefits from detail: the automaker describes battery preconditioning that can activate through navigation or manually. The ability to warm a battery does not guarantee an identical 10-to-80-percent time across temperatures. Equipment such as driving assistance, heated seats and software functions varies by grade and country, so source evidence from another country's brochure should not be treated as an exact build sheet.

Alternatives and Verdict

Compare the Kia EV3, Volkswagen ID.4 and Renault Scenic E-Tech where available. Elroq is a plausible shortlist car for people who want a straightforward compact SUV layout and clear battery options. Before purchase, verify the original equipment list, tyre specification, charging cable set and service/recall status. The June-2025 date qualification is deliberately retained to avoid silently overwriting earlier cars.
