2025 Tata Curvv EV: Specifications, Versions and Buying Guide

Scope: 2025 documented sale/production calendar year; check local registration/VIN for formal model-year designation. Documented version jurisdictions: IN. Figures apply only to explicitly identified grades and national test conditions.

Model Identity and 2025 Market Context

Tata’s Curvv.ev is an Indian-market electric coupé-SUV with a more sloping rear roofline than a conventional upright crossover. Tata launched the first version in August 2024 and began deliveries that month, so it is an established 2025-sale-year model, not a prototype awaiting release. Its relationship to the petrol and diesel Curvv is important: the electric car uses the acti.ev architecture and its own electrical hardware, and should not share a single technical table with combustion versions.

Powertrains and Verifiable Technical Differences

Two verified Indian battery offerings anchor the comparison: 45 kWh and 55 kWh. Tata’s original technical documentation assigns 110 kW to the smaller-pack version and 123 kW to the larger-pack model, with 215 Nm for the electric motor variants. The launch claimed certified distances of 502 km and 585 km respectively under Indian procedures. Those are not figures that should be re-labelled WLTP or EPA; a buyer should expect actual motorway or hot-weather range to differ.

Who Should Consider It?

The appeal is a striking silhouette without entirely sacrificing family practicality. The 500-litre class luggage compartment quoted in Tata’s original materials gives a starting point, but shoppers carrying tall boxes or pets should examine the usable shape under the sloping glass. More battery generally helps trip flexibility, although a greater initial purchase cost may be difficult to justify if the car spends its life on predictable short city routes.

Limitations and Ownership Trade-Offs

Software, charging and feature allocation matter as much as styling. The original Curvv.ev specification includes multiple regen levels and driving modes, but whether later software adds functions to a particular vehicle is a separate question. A photograph of a top trim is not proof that a base 45 kWh car has the same display or driver assistance. Public DC charging performance must be confirmed with the particular charger and vehicle; battery size alone does not reveal sustained charging speed.

Buying a 2025 Example in 2026

For a used car, compare original invoices to the battery size shown in the vehicle systems, request service and update records and ask for battery-health evidence. Pay attention to tyres and suspension on rough roads and verify charging-cable compatibility. MG Windsor PRO may appeal more to buyers valuing a taller roof, while Tata Nexon.ev is smaller. Compare them under like-for-like Indian certified range procedures and actual local charging access.
